1987 First edition
Compiled and edited by the Falls County Historical Commission
Biographical sketches, includes early settlers in what becomes present-day Falls County, Texas, their descendants, and other families who came later and contributed to the history of the county. The first families to settle the area came as settlers in Robertson's Colony of the State of Coahuila, Mexico. The seat of government for the colony, which covers an area now constituting thirty Texas counties, was established in 1834 at Sarah de Viesca near the falls on the Brazos river which contributed the name of the modern county. Many later waves of settlement brought new families into the county, including post civil war immigration from the deep south, and European settlers.
