The morning of January 12, 1888 was calm and warm. Without warning, the storm roared down from Canada at 50 mph. Temperatures dropped almost 40 degrees. Furious winds swirled up to 8 inches of snow into a blinding life-threatening blizzard. Morethan 1000 people died.
Reprinted to commemorate the centennial anniversary of "The Great Blizzard". The original eidtion was first published by W.H. O'Gara in 1947 from stories collected by the members of the Blizzard Club in Laurel, Nebraska.

This edition reprinted in 1988 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the great storm and the final meeting of the club.
Very good. No dust jacket as issued. Very good, near fine. Previous owner's book sticker on inside of front cover, with date, small inked initial on half-title page. Tiny corner crease on upper front corner, else appears almost as new.
