This is an ex-library copy, from a large university non-circulating reference room collection. The only external markings are stamps on the page edges, the boards and spine are unmarked. Each volume has a sticker on the front fixed end-paper, else the interiors are unmarked in any way. Bindings are uniformly square and tight. Notwithstanding the library markings described, this is a very nice set with few signs of handling.
"Mankind have a great aversion to intellectual labor; but even supposing knowledge to be easily attainable, more people would be content to be ignorant than would take even a little trouble to acquire it." - Samuel Johnson
