 Stories by the Killeen native and inimitable story teller Gra'delle Duncan.  Traces the origins of the town in the 1880's and vignettes of the history of the developing agricultural and shipping hub in central Texas.  Delightful illustrations by Joe Buckler.

 Inscribed on the free endpaper to Killeen Native Oveta Culp Hobby.  Mrs. Hobby was the first secretary of the Department of Health, Education and Welfare, first commanding officer of the Women's Army Corps, and chairman of the board of the Houston Post.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oveta_Culp_Hobby
