Facsimile reprint of the 1895 New Sydenham Society (London) translation, facsimile reproduction includes woodcut illustrations.   Laid in is the publisher's introductory booklet, 21 pages, with picture of author tipped in.  Booklet includes biographical sketch of Marie by Sir Henry Cohen, reprinted from the proceedings of the Royal Society of Medicine, 1953.

Full red tooled leather, bright gilt decorated boards, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers, bound-in satin bookmark.  511 pages, octavo (8 1/2" X 5 3/4")  Fine, like new.  Leather bookplate on front fixed end paper, indicating this is copy 537 of 1000.
