Bob St. John's classic look into the life of the rodeo cowboy. The author gets up-close and personal with many of the greats of the sport, following the rodeo, meeting with the cowboys, listening to their stories and capturing their personalities. To mention but a few of the personalities St. John profiles - Mike Bandy, Larry Mahon, Don Gay, Money Henson, Skipper Voss (the clown), and many more legends of the sport. There is a lot here about the events, what goes on behind the scenes, the livestock and much more about the life and world of the rodeo cowboy. Contains forewords by Larry McMahan and Walt Garrison, the book has also received an endorsement by Larry McMurtry.
Softcover, trade paperback, glued binding, graphic wraps. Xvi, 236 pages, 8 1/2" X 5 1/2", well illustrated throughout. Condition of this copy is very good with mild handling marks and shelf scuffing to wraps, a couple of mild creases to the wraps, with a faint bit of brown spotting on the top page edges, else the book is clean and unmarked. The spine is uncreased and book lays flat and tight.
