An original, rare Rumford Baking Powder Receipt (recipe) cookbook from 1909. With color chromo-lithograph cover art. 20 page saddle stapled booklet, 9 1/4" X 6". Over 80 recipes included: cakes, cookies, biscuits, muffins, rolls, doughnuts, breads (I love the "Rumford Dyspeptic Bread (can be eaten by those with weak digestion)", tarts, waffles, griddle cakes, soufflé, sauces, creams and fillings, and much more.
Saddle stapled booklet,
This 1909 edition, with the picture of a smiling young girl is rare in this nice condition. Please see our other 1909 Rumford Receipt book with a picture of another girl on the front. Note that although they are both from 1909, the contents of the two books have a few recipes in common but most are unique.
A nice copy of this rare, antique cook book. Has a perforation in the upper left corner for a hanging loop. note this copy still has the hanging string that was no doubt added by the original owner. The front cover has a corner crease and a 1/2" tear along the top edge, and just minor handling marks on the inside, with no writing noted. The paper is quite smooth and supple, very good for being over 100 years old.
